Setting a Healthy Example - Tuesday, December 16
When you make exercise a part of your lifestyle, your kids benefit too. Active daily family time comes in many forms — from walking with a baby in a stroller or backpack-style carrier to playing racquetball with your teen. You’re already exercising and eating healthfully every day; be a role model and include kids in your exercise routine for these health benefits:
- Walking keeps children in shape, while building healthy bones and muscles
- Regular fitness boosts self-esteem
- Including children in family fitness teaches them lifelong health habits
- Exercise enhances quality of life.
Children should be physically active for at least an hour each day. Take the kids on your walks or think of other fun ways to keep your family bustling.
