Feel like tasks are piling up? Time to strike a better work-life balance with these strategies:

  • Write down primary concerns — in order. If everything is a priority, then nothing is a priority. You may have a warehouse full of hot projects and good ideas, but realizing which are most important is what really matters. Pick your top 3 and start with the first each day. Check in every hour until you can cross it off your list.

  • Know when you’re at your best. Are you more energized by the sun or moon? When possible, save your most complicated tasks for your personal peak times of productivity and alertness.

  • Kick texting. With your computer, phone, and myriad other glittery screens always being “on” takes a toll. Even your devices need to recharge. Disconnect for a while and give that part of your brain a much-needed respite.
