Co-workers can be great workout partners — with similar hours, you can carpool, slip in exercise sessions during breaks, or meet up before/after work. With buddies, you’ll be more accountable, encouraging each other to stick with the routine and have more fun.

Inspire co-workers to exercise with you using these motivators:

  • Fold it into work. Hold walking meetings or take stretch breaks. The physical activity will relieve workday pressures and make everyone more productive.

  • Train together. Choose a charity walk, road race, or athletic fundraiser and prepare for it as a group. Having a common objective and training program builds camaraderie and promotes teamwork.

  • Create an ongoing event. Consider organizing a volleyball league or a badminton tournament, attending fitness classes, going on weekly group hikes or bicycle rides. Post a signup sheet with locations, schedules, or game results.

You spend a large part of your day with coworkers, so why not include time together for exercise? Get started this week.
