10,000 daily steps can help you gain all the benefits that walking offers. If that seems like a lot, here’s how you can squeeze in hundreds of steps each day to aim for 10K:
Go for a brisk daily walk. Just 30 minutes a day — done in 1 session or shorter bouts — will help you feel your best… and take a big bite out of your step goal.
Make extra trips. When you’re unloading groceries or cleaning the house, don’t carry everything at once. Pick up and put away a few things at a time to get more steps.
Use public transportation. Steps add up when you’re walking to the bus stop or train platform.
Walk after meals. Use the end of your lunch break to head outdoors. You’ll get closer to your step quota and feel invigorated for the rest of your workday. Make after-dinner family walks a habit for closer connections and more steps.
