Broccoli has many uses — it’s tasty dipped in dressing, steamed as a side dish, cooked in a casserole, or sauteed in a stir-fry.
This cruciferous vegetable is rich in vitamins C, K, and A as well as folate, fiber, potassium, and calcium. Try some of these delicious preparation tips:
- Rinse fresh broccoli and break off the florets to serve raw with dip or tossed with cherry tomatoes in a salad
- Steam and serve over whole grain couscous with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh lemon juice
- Mix steamed broccoli into your favorite pasta sauce
- Combine with steamed cauliflower and carrots for a colorful, tasty side dish
- Stir-fry with minced garlic and fresh ginger in a little sesame oil
- Don’t ignore the nutritious stems and leaves, which taste great chopped and cooked along with the florets.
