Be More Resilient - Tuesday, October 15
When it comes to resilience, here’s how you can use the small stuff to rebound from life events and be a stronger, happier person:
Appreciate the ordinary. Make a habit of savoring beautiful things. Take a walk and inhale the fresh air. Listen intently to the drip of rain. Feel the grass or sand under your feet.
Put a positive spin on things. When something negative happens, finish a gloomy beginning with an optimistic ending, for example, “My car broke down, but I’m grateful I have a car to fix.”
Create small rituals. Pepper your routine with events that open windows of happiness — your favorite tea with a good read, a brisk walk outdoors, quiet time to meditate before bed… anything that brings you peace.
Noticing and feeling grateful for the seemingly mundane can cultivate the skills you need to tackle the bigger stuff life throws your way.
